How to play Brick Breaker

Use a short break to learn the rhythm of Brick Breaker. Clear all forty-five bricks before losing three balls. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls. Use the opening round to become familiar with the layout. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions.

Single 45-brick layout, three balls.

Read before acting

Read one step at a time and try it on the playing area. Match the instruction to the control you use. Use the example to check your reasoning.

Your goal

Clear all forty-five bricks before losing three balls. Read that aim before choosing your first action. Check the rules when you are unsure.

Step by step

  1. Start the ball.
  2. Move the paddle to intercept it.
  3. Paddle contact changes the outgoing angle.
  4. Restart a remaining ball after a loss.

Controls

Pointer, arrow keys or held Left/Right. Start / pause and New round are available. On a smaller screen, keep the active part of the board within view. A new-round button replaces the current round.

A useful example

An edge hit sends the ball at a different angle. Your next round may have a different position, so inspect it before acting. Verify the rule before continuing.

Watch out for this

Track its landing point, not only its current x-coordinate. Read the feedback to see why an action did not have the expected result. Compare the worked example with your own position. Use the reasoning, not an answer copied from a different board.
